Welcome to Quasispace Portal Theater 3000.

There are points in the universe where the fabric of reality becomes worn. Where the threads that bind the whole into some semblance of order are frayed and snapped. It is places like this where otherwise (relatively) normal individuals can take that fatal misstep into Quasispace.

In Quasispace the laws of time, space, physics, and good taste are null and void. It is a realm with infinite potential, where fully anything and everything is possible. So it has been put to its most obvious use, trapping hapless individuals and forcing them to watch some of the most horrible fanfic ever created. But Quasispace is unpredictable, and even those who seek to control it often find themselves as much a victim of its whims as their captives.

We, the occupants of Quasispace, and in turn, occupants of the Quasispace Portal Theater 3000, are a mass of humans and quasi-humans who, due to miscellaneous and unfortunate circumstances, have ended up in the wrong place at the wrong time and therefore are forced to read abominable fanfiction. As a result, we are forced to go to great lengths to keep our last vestiges of sanity (relative though it may be) by poking fun at, or 'riffing', said fanfiction.

In the real world, we come from many walks of life, and have come together here for one reason: because we are all masochistic enough to think we can handle this kind of torture with humor and writing. We do realize that what we produce will never be copied into the annals of history; nevertheless, we do it for the same reason George Leigh Mallory climbed Mount Everest: "because it's there."
